Ribocure Pharmaceuticals AB and Medtanken Group AB today present a strategic collaboration that allows clinical research to be applied directly in primary care. The collaboration aims to improve healthcare by making clinical trials more accessible to patients in primary care while simultaneously stimulating increased research within this important part of healthcare.
The collaboration offers patients at Medtanken Group AB’s health centers the opportunity to participate in clinical trials, something that has previously been mainly possible for hospital patients. This gives more patients access to future treatments and ensures that the research represents a broader patient group.

By enabling clinical trials in primary care, we take an active role in developing future treatments,” says Fredrik Gunmalm, CEO of Medtanken Group AB. “It is also an important part of giving our staff the opportunity to grow in their professional roles and strengthen our competence in research and development.”
The initiative will also create new opportunities for primary care staff to engage in research. By offering participation in the clinical trials conducted at Ribocure Clinic, a phase 2 clinical trial unit at Ribocure Pharmaceuticals AB, the collaboration aims to build a strong joint research culture.
Sara Svedlund, head of Ribocure Clinic, adds: “This collaboration will give us access to a broader patient group, which is crucial for developing new drugs against chronic diseases.”
The collaboration started already in the fall of 2024 on a smaller scale and was very successful. Now the collaboration is expanding and will include more health centers, and several studies are planned on different patient groups.
