Ribo Launches Automated Intelligent Drug Screening Center to Advance siRNA+AI Drug Discovery
September 22, 2026, Jinan, China
Suzhou Ribo Life Science Co., Ltd. (“Ribo”, 06938.HK) today announced the opening of the Automated Intelligent Drug Screening Center (the “Center”) at its wholly owned subsidiary, Ribotek Biopharmaceuticals (Shandong) Co., Ltd. (“RiboTek”). Powered by an automated robotic cluster and intelligent data analytics infrastructure, Ribo is establishing a standardized technical platform tailored for early drug discovery and preclinical research of siRNA therapeutics, marking a pivotal breakthrough in advancing the automation, digitalization and intelligent transformation of its siRNA drug development.
The newly inaugurated Center will significantly enhance the experimental throughput, standardization level and data quality for early-stage siRNA drug discovery and exploratory research. It will be deeply integrated with Ribo’s existing AI-assisted R&D ecosystem, enabling seamless data interoperability and iterative refinement between algorithmic models and high-throughput wet-lab experiments.
As a pioneer dedicated in siRNA field, Ribo has established an integrated hardware-software R&D infrastructure matrix leveraging its proprietary sequence design and screening software platform, in combination with its capabilities in Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD), Artificial Intelligence–Driven Drug Discovery (AIDD) and Model-Informed Drug Development (MIDD). Meanwhile, Ribo has collaborated with AI for Science ecosystem partners such as Insilico Medicine, Pherion, PatSnap, BIOYOND and DP Technology to address key challenges across the siRNA R&D chain, and built an AI-enabled R&D system spanning target assessment, molecular design, delivery technology and clinical development, thereby improving the quality of R&D decision-making and accelerating the translation of discovery innovation into clinical application.
Ribo is entering a phase of accelerated pipeline delivery: its proprietary liver-targeting technology has steadily matured, while its extrahepatic delivery technology has achieved important breakthroughs. Ribo currently has 7 clinical-stage assets, over 20 preclinical assets, and over 45 early-stage discovery programs, covering cardiovascular, metabolic, renal and hepatic diseases with major unmet medical needs. The launch of the Center will further amplify the synergistic value of AI-driven automation, continuously improve the efficiency and predictability of siRNA drug R&D, shorten end-to-end timelines from target discovery and molecular design to clinical advancement, and drive accelerated bench-to-bedside
translation for siRNA therapeutics.
“siRNA therapeutics are inherently amenable to digital design. The deep integration of AI with automated laboratory platforms represents a core pathway for overcoming industry-wide R&D bottlenecks and enhancing the success rate of innovative drug development. The opening of the Center is a critical step in Ribo’s ‘AI+siRNA’ strategy. Leveraging this integrated software-hardware-based platform, we will connect the dry-lab and wet-lab workflows, continuously generate high-quality R&D data, advance more differentiated siRNA drug candidates toward clinical development, ultimately benefiting patients worldwide”, said Dr. Zicai Liang, Chairman and CEO of Ribo.
